The Founder's "Warehouse Woes" and the Alpaca Inspiration

A week before the Christmas season in 2019, Zach, the founder of Cloud Llama, visited a cross - border e - commerce warehouse in Shenzhen. There, he saw a supplier squatting beside a pile of unsold Christmas sweaters, answering a call from a US customer. On the other end of the line, a small US seller was almost in a state of collapse: "My store rating is about to drop to zero! My customers said that the sweaters, which were shown as shipped two weeks ago, still have their logistics information stuck at 'collected'. My Christmas sales are ruined. My account will be complained about, and my payment account will be blocked..."

As the director of the supply chain of a certain cross - border e - commerce platform, he knew exactly the root of the problem: Overseas sellers had blindly believed the "7 - day delivery" promise of a DropShipping agent. In reality, the goods were stranded in the Shenzhen warehouse. The DropShipping agent, in an attempt to cut costs, had chosen an unreliable carrier. At this time, due to a surge in orders, the carrier was unable to collect and transport the goods normally. Unless the supplier was willing to pay three times the normal logistics fee, the goods could not be shipped.

"Why, in a DropShipping model that is supposed to be a free and flexible consignment model, do overseas sellers bear even greater risks?" This question gnawed at Zach's nerves.

After leaving the warehouse, Zach wrote the following in his notebook:

Ideal DropShipping = Supply Chain Transparency + Response Speed + Worry - free After - sales Service + Trust between Suppliers and Demanders

The inspiration for the brand name "Cloud Llama" came from his visit to Ecuador the following month. When he saw a herd of alpacas in the Andes Mountains, the words of the local guide enlightened him: "They never hoard forage for winter, yet they can find hidden oases with their sensitive sense of smell. This is the wisdom of survival and, more importantly, trust in the ecosystem."

That night, Zach wrote in his travel notes:
"What we need to do is not to burden sellers, but to be their 'backer' in global trade.

Behind the light - footedness of alpacas is their ultimate insight into the environment and their instinct to discover oases. The mission of Cloud Llama is to give every seller the freedom of 'having no warehouse is better than having one' and to make sellers believe that the 'oasis' is right beside them."

Zach often tells new employees: "Our KPI is not the number of orders, but the'seller sleep index' - the moment they entrust their goods to Cloud Llama, they should be able to rest easy."

This is the belief earned by the founding team through experience and lessons, and it is also the ultimate vision of Cloud Llama

To ensure that global sellers' nights are no longer disrupted by the beeps of logistics tracking numbers, fulfillment, and after - sales disputes.
